SITCO established as the central technology hardware and service provider for Shoshone Government and Enterprises
Today the Eastern Shoshone Business Council voted unanimously to transfer control of the Shoshone-owned half of the AraShoNet Internet Service Provider operations to the Shoshone Information Technology Company. “The significance of this action by the SBC is two-fold,” said Kevin Shultz, SITCO CEO. “It allows our organization to proceed with plans to develop infrastructure and expand services in the Fort Washakie area, which in turn will increase opportunities and the quality of life in the area. We understand that business is dependent on the availability of quality data and communication systems, and now we can focus resources and expertise on making those improvements. I think it is also a strong vote of confidence on the part of the SBC and I appreciate the Council’s ongoing support.” An additional provision in the SBC action establishes SITCO as the central technology hardware and service provider for Shoshone Government and Enterprises. SITCO’s extensive capabilities and resources allow the company to handle nearly all the tribe’s technology needs, from tech support to networking to web development and printing. The SBC action promotes the growth and expansion of tribally-owned business. Meeting participants agreed that central administration by SITCO will allow increased efficiencies and effectiveness, including increased standardization and compatibility, cost reduction, and control over unnecessary technology spending. Shultz added, “We intend to have immediate and positive impact on tribal technology. SITCO is pleased to be involved and looks forward to the challenge.”
